Our third post of the week comes from Sheana Algama, talking about her experiences at Capital Area Head Start. Read more below the cut.
Capital Area Head Start is a child development program that aims to provide comprehensive services to children from birth to age 5. These services include medical, dental, nutritional, educational, and social services. CAH runs pre-school programs in three counties as well as part day school programs and home visits. During home visits, a home visitor may help the family connect to social services and other resources if necessary, conducts vision, hearing, and blood pressure screenings, monitor, record and provide support to the child’s development, carry out child education activities, and educate families on preventative health services and nutrition.
